MUMU recently caught up with Tash Francis, an Auckland based yoga teacher, to discover who her greatest inspiration is, her favourite pose and what she was doing in her life before yoga. You can find Tash at any of her weekly yoga classes including Danceit, Achel Hot Yoga (Botany and Manukau), Marina Fitness, Health & Sports (Kingsland) and Crossfit (Tuamata).
What’s your greatest inspiration?
My greatest yoga inspiration is Kino McGregor. She’s is a true expert, has amazing discipline and strength, and an incredible way with words.
What’s your favourite yoga pose?
My favourite yoga pose is Bow pose (pictured). The posture requires that you use your entire spine in the backbend, and often shows where your mind has trouble connecting with your body. By working through these challenges, you will become more balanced and energetic physically and mentally.
What was life like before you became a yoga teacher?
Before I was a yoga teacher I lived in Dubai working for Emirates Airline. I was very lucky to see the world and visit 7 of the new world wonders. I needed something to keep me grounded and stable during this time, which is when I fell in love with yoga.
