Why is yoga important for you?
Yoga incorporates so many things that I love. Movement, connection, spirituality and the practice of being in the “Now”. Yoga has helped me to understand my mind and my body and the more I practice, the stronger I feel – both mentally and physically.
What’s your favourite yoga pose?
How long have you been a yoga teacher for?
Just over two years.
What were you doing before life as a yoga teacher?
I was a Personal Assistant for 8 years. First in Wellington and then London. I started to get bored more and more easily in every job I took though. The thing I love about being a yoga teacher is that the practice and the personal growth is never-ending, there is always something new to learn.
Who’s your greatest inspiration?
My Mum! She is the strongest, wisest, kindest person I know and has taught me so much about life.
What’s been your biggest achievement in life?
Making the most wonderful friends I could ever wish for. Also, travelling the world – that’s another passion of mine.
What’s the biggest challenge that you have overcome?
I often give too much to others, so I need to keep reminding myself that I need to take care of myself first.
What words of wisdom do you have for other amazing women?
Be as present as possible, in everything you do, and be yourself, be real, no matter what – you are unique and beautiful. Find out what you love and then do that at least once every day!
